Sabalenka is set to become the second player in WTA history to surpass 12,000 points
Aryna Sabalenka has qualified for the quarterfinals of Wimbledon, a Grand Slam she couldn’t compete in last year due to a shoulder injury.
The Belarusian is guaranteed to leave London with at least 430 additional points, pushing her past the 12,000-point milestone.
This symbolic mark has only been surpassed once before, by Serena Williams, who reached a maximum of 13,615 points.
If Sabalenka wins the Wimbledon title, she could surpass that record with 13,640 points.
