Sabalenka on the clay season: "I know I can handle long rallies"
The end of the Miami tournament marks the start of the clay season. After her title in Florida, Aryna Sabalenka shared her thoughts on how she approaches this part of the year, which isn’t necessarily her favorite.
"I’m physically strong, I know I can handle long rallies, and I don’t need to rush to win.
I believe that’s the key to further improving my game on clay. So, we’ll make sure my fitness is at its best during this part of the season."
For now, Sabalenka holds a 3,000-point lead over her main rival Iga Swiatek in the rankings. Swiatek, however, will have to defend her titles in Madrid, Rome, and Roland Garros—worth 5,000 points.
