Scary Swiatek crushes women's tennis at Roland-Garros
Iga Swiatek's domination of the rest of the WTA Tour is becoming supernatural. While her 2nd round match against Osaka had revealed a few weaknesses in the Pole's game, Swiatek set the record straight. Already very solid in her third round match against Bouzkova (6-4, 6-2), she simply demolished Potapova on Sunday (6-0, 6-0 in 40 minutes).
It's hard to imagine what this kind of performance means. Faced with an opponent who will enter the world's Top 40 after this tournament, the world number 1 gave up just 10 points in two sets. Worse still, she didn't seem to be forcing her talent, contenting herself with calmly reciting her tennis.
Simply frightening.
Qualified for the quarter-finals, she will meet Marketa Vondrousova, ranked 6th in the world, in the next round.
