Shelton joins Fils in the semi-finals!
After ousting Stan Wawrinka yesterday, Ben Shelton pulled off a major coup in Basel by eliminating No.1 seed Andrey Rublev.
The two men battled it out for over two hours, and it was the American who emerged victorious in three tight sets (7-5, 6-7, 6-4).
This was his first victory over a Top 20 player this season (0-10 record before the match).
Ben Shelton and Arthur Fils will meet again tomorrow in the semi-finals, less than a month after their epic clash in Tokyo won by the Frenchman.
