Siegemund after victory over Zheng: "I wasn't expecting it, singles aren't my priority".
Laura Siegemund surprised everyone by beating Qinwen Zheng, starting with herself. Winning 7-6, 6-3, the German expressed her delight in a press conference.
She declared: "To beat one of the best in the world is fantastic.
I'm particularly pleased with my attitude throughout the match; I was brave, not nervous and I moved well. I know that when I'm in good physical shape, my game is always there.
I wasn't expecting that, especially as singles isn't my priority right now."
