Since the beginning of the week, I've been crying every day," Garcia's emotion after her last match played at Roland-Garros

Defeated by Bernarda Pera in the first round, Caroline Garcia bid farewell to Roland-Garros, as she will retire in the coming months.
The French player, who has long been a leading figure in French women's tennis, took advantage of the lively atmosphere at Suzanne-Lenglen to thank the crowd and share her emotions during the post-match interview:
"Thank you for supporting me in this match. It was a match full of emotions. I did my best with what I had inside. I tried to fight until the last point. It was a real pleasure to play today.
Since the beginning of the year, I knew this would be my last season and my last Roland-Garros. I hesitated for a long time before revealing it because I didn't know how I would manage my emotions. Since the beginning of the week, I've been crying every day. I've always played with these emotions, the good as well as the bad. Sometimes, stress and the desire to perform well stopped me.
All these emotions have tricked me, especially here at Roland-Garros where I've experienced difficult moments. I've always tried to give my best and win this trophy. Unfortunately, I never succeeded. All the good moments, as well as the less good ones, that I shared with the public will stay with me forever.
The first chapter of my life with tennis allowed me to become the person I am today. I thank my close ones, my family, and my fiancé. These last two years have been difficult, and he pushed me to end my career loving tennis rather than hating it. I thank him for helping me become the person I am now. Thank you all. This chapter was wonderful.
