Sinner praises Medvedev's fair play: "He deserves his victory".
Jannik Sinner came up short in this year's quarter-finals at Wimbledon. Despite being very confident, the Italian, admittedly ill, was stopped by a very good Daniil Medvedev (6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 2-6, 6-3).
When asked about this setback, he didn't dwell on his physical state. On the contrary, the Transalpine insisted above all on the level of play offered by Tuesday's tormentor: "He's been world No.1, he's won a lot of titles, and he knows how to handle situations on court. He likes long rallies. He's an intelligent player with very big weapons.
Today (Tuesday), he deserves his victory, he played better than me at certain key moments. That's tough.
Losing in 5 sets at Roland-Garros (to Alcaraz), in 5 sets here, in 5 sets at the US Open last year (against Zverev) ... It's part of the process to take a step forward again."
