Sinner responds to Jarry's comments: "If the anti-doping protocol has problems, it's not my fault"
Jannik Sinner defeated Nicolas Jarry in his 1st round match at the Australian Open on Monday.
After a solid start in which he didn't fall prey to the Chilean's powerful shots, the world No.1 was asked by journalists about his opponent's recent comments.
Yesterday, Jarry had spoken to a Chilean newspaper about the difference in support between the doping affair that concerned him between 2019 and 2020 and that of Sinner last year.
Sinner: "I don't know the details of his case. It's difficult for me to say what happened. What I can say is that we were treated in the same way.
If there are problems with the anti-doping protocol, it's not my fault.
Of course, I'm really sorry for all the players who go through this kind of thing. But I don't know exactly what the differences are between his case and mine.
I only know what happened to me. And mine is still ongoing.
In the end, I was always judged innocent. The amount I had in my body was less than a billionth of a gram and it was contamination. I don't know the details of what he had."
Sinner and iga are an embarrassment to the sport
