Sinner, the king of tie-breaks?

Le 03/09/2024 à 04h26 par Elio Valotto
Sinner, the king of tie-breaks?

In a duel of the highest quality, Jannik Sinner has just won the first two sets of his Round of 16 match against local player Tommy Paul.

After more than 2 hours of combat, the world number 1 demonstrated surgical efficiency to win the first two acts, each time in a tie-break (7-6, 7-6).

Initially suffering the thunderous start of a Paul galvanized by the support of his home crowd, the Italian never panicked, recovering from breaks down in the first set and perfectly controlling the important points in the following set.

Shaken but realistic, Sinner is now just one set away from joining Medvedev in the US Open quarter-finals.
