Spain-Poland BJK Cup match officially postponed to Friday due to storm DANA

The BJK Cup Finals were due to start this Wednesday. The match between Paula Badosa's Spain and Iga Swiatek's Poland was already threatened by the weather forecast. It's now official: the match has been postponed to Friday, for everyone's safety, due to storm DANA.

The city of Malaga, host of the BJK Cup, has been placed on red alert due to the risk of flooding. It was too dangerous to move spectators. The local population was advised not to leave their homes.

We'll have to wait another two days to enjoy this match, which promises to be indecisive and exciting.

Official BJK Cup press release: "Due to a weather alert issued by local and regional authorities, the Billie Jean King by Gainbridge Finals 2024 Cup first round match between Spain and Poland, originally scheduled for today, November 13 at 5pm, has been postponed. The match will now take place on Friday, November 15, starting at 10 a.m.

This decision has been taken on the basis of recommendations from the relevant authorities in order to guarantee the health and safety of all participants and spectators. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Message to ticket holders:

The Spain-Poland match, originally scheduled for November 13 at 5pm, has been postponed to Friday November 15 at 10am. Your tickets remain valid for the new date and time - you don't need to do anything else.
