The top 4 men's seeds at the Madrid Masters 1000 were Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz, and Novak Djokovic.
Zverev and Fritz were eliminated in the round of 16, Djokovic lost in the second round, and Alcaraz withdrew at the last minute.
According to the X account *Jeu, Set et Maths*, this is the 13th time since 1990 and only the second time since 2006 that none of the top 4 seeds reached the quarterfinals of a Masters 1000.
The last time this happened was in Shanghai in 2023.
