Stats - Sinner's impressive new figure for 2024
Jannik Sinner has been imperial this season.
The ATP Tour boss has won eight titles since January (in addition to the Davis Cup) and added two Grand Slam titles (at the Australian Open and then the US Open), three Masters 1000 (Miami, Cincinnati and Shanghai) and the ATP Finals to his list of honours.
In all, the Italian won 73 singles matches and lost just 6 in 2024, with a winning percentage of over 92%.
Numbers that make the head spin, but which demonstrate Sinner's dominance.
In recent hours, the Gazzetta Dello Sport has also noted that, in all his matches this season, Sinner has managed to break his opponent at least once, with one exception.
In the final of the ATP 500 grass-court tournament in Halle, Sinner failed to break the serve of Hubert Hurkacz, a player with whom he has played several doubles tournaments this year.
Despite three break points, he was unable to break the Pole's serve, but that didn't stop him from lifting the trophy (victory 7-6, 7-6).
Of his six defeats this season, Jannik Sinner has lost three to Carlos Alcaraz (Indian Wells, French Open, Beijing), once to Andrey Rublev (Montreal), once to Daniil Medvedev (Wimbledon) and once to Stefanos Tsitsipas (Monte-Carlo).
Even though he eventually lost all these matches, he put on a good show and played some close matches on each occasion. In fact, Sinner has never lost a match without winning a set in 2024.
Impressive consistency for the 23-year-old.
