Swiatek defeats Azarenka in Bad Homburg and secures her 300th career win

Iga Swiatek made her 2025 grass-court debut in Bad Homburg. Facing Victoria Azarenka, now ranked outside the top 100, on Tuesday, the Polish player triumphed 6-4, 6-4.
A solid match that marked her 300th career victory. In her post-match interview, she said: "Honestly, I love training. I really enjoy myself on the practice court. Especially on grass.
On one hand, my tennis can be tricky. On the other hand, I have the chance to learn new things. Wim, my coach, implements this all the time. He convinced me to try new things.
When you have a clear goal to work toward in training, it’s really enjoyable. You’re free to do whatever you want. You don’t have to adjust to your opponent or anything else.
I truly appreciate the time spent on the practice courts. I have to say it hasn’t been a problem for me. And honestly, we don’t often get time to train between tournaments.
I’m making the most of every day to become a better player."
She will face either Ekaterina Alexandrova or Maria Sakkari in the quarterfinals.
