Swiatek dismisses Noskova and advances to Madrid quarterfinals against Shnaider
Iga Swiatek’s title defense in Madrid continues, with a third-round match handled far more smoothly than her tournament debut two days ago. The world No. 2, after battling Alexandra Eala, faced Linda Noskova—the player who notably defeated her at the 2024 Australian Open.
But in their first clay-court encounter, it was Swiatek who dominated, securing two breaks in each set to win 6-4, 6-2 in 1 hour and 11 minutes.
Now through to the quarterfinals, the draw will only get tougher for the Polish star. Next up is world No. 13 Diana Shnaider, who awaits her on Monday.
