Swiatek Dominates Tauson to Advance to Wimbledon Quarterfinals
Iga Swiatek, now ranked 4th in the world, is increasingly establishing herself as one of the top contenders for the title on the grass courts of Wimbledon.
Facing Clara Tauson in the Round of 16, the five-time Grand Slam champion endured a shaky first set, losing her serve twice in her first two service games. After this challenging start, she gradually found her rhythm and was never troubled again.
She secured the victory in just over an hour, winning 6-4, 6-1 by claiming eight of the last nine games. Returning to the Wimbledon quarterfinals, the Polish star will face Liudmila Samsonova on Wednesday.
