Swiatek dominates Zheng to reach the semifinals at Indian Wells
Iga Swiatek continues to prove that she is the queen of Indian Wells.
After cruising through her previous rounds, the Polish player made quick work of world number 9 Qinwen Zheng in the quarterfinals on Thursday (6-3, 6-3).
With no answer to the solid play of the world number 2, Zheng quickly found herself trailing in both sets. Despite a late surge of pride, it was after a series of unforced errors and two double faults, including one on match point, that she ultimately succumbed.
Swiatek secures her tenth consecutive win on the California courts and advances to the semifinals of the tournament for the fourth year in a row.
She will play for a spot in the final against Mirra Andreeva or Elina Svitolina.
