Swiatek Makes Successful Clay Court Return and Reaches Quarterfinals in Stuttgart

On her return to clay courts, Iga Swiatek comfortably defeated Jan Fett in her opening match at Stuttgart. Benefiting from a first-round bye, the world No. 2 eliminated the Croatian player in just 1 hour and 15 minutes with a score of 6-2, 6-2.

The Polish player capitalized on her opponent's nine double faults and four break points conceded (out of 14 attempts) to cruise into the quarterfinals.

Last year, the 23-year-old fell in the semifinals of the German tournament to Rybakina in three sets (6-3, 4-6, 6-3).

The five-time Grand Slam champion will face the winner of the match between Ostapenko and Navarro for a spot in the semifinals.
