Swiatek on her incredible performances at Indian Wells: "Some matches can be very strange"
Iga Swiatek has been nearly unstoppable so far on the courts of Indian Wells. In three matches played, she has only lost six games.
When asked about this performance in a post-match press conference, she explained: "Honestly, sometimes certain matches can be very strange.
Sometimes, it's enough for one player to not feel very well and the other, on the contrary, to feel at their best.
And suddenly, the difference is much greater than it usually is.
With Muchova, we trained together last week and we were at a fairly similar level.
That's tennis, things like that can happen. Today, I took my chance and I was focused.
Today, with the weather, it was quite slippery in the last two games, but I really wanted to finish the match.
So I played more riskily and my shots were always in the court."
Swiatek will face Qinwen Zheng in the quarterfinals of Indian Wells.
