Swiatek will compete in the WTA 500 tournament in Bad Homburg in June
Iga Swiatek will participate in a grass-court tournament to prepare for Wimbledon. The week before the third Grand Slam of the season in London, the Polish player, currently ranked world number 2, will be in Germany, specifically in Bad Homburg, to get accustomed to the surface.
A quarter-finalist at Wimbledon in 2023, where she was defeated by Elina Svitolina, Swiatek will return to Bad Homburg after having already participated in this event two years ago, when it was still a WTA 250.
At that time, she eliminated Tatjana Maria (5-7, 6-2, 6-0), Jil Teichmann (6-3, 6-1), and Anna Blinkova (6-3, 6-2) before withdrawing from her semi-final, which was supposed to be against Lucia Bronzetti.
On its X account (formerly Twitter), the Bad Homburg tournament, which had teased Swiatek's participation for its 2025 edition (from June 21 to 28), has officially confirmed the news.
"Precision, power, speed: Iga Swiatek returns to Bad Homburg! The 2023 semi-finalist excites once again," can be read on the social network.
