"That's why I won today," Andreeva reveals her new lucky charm gifted by a fan
Andreeva dominated Putintseva with ease (6-3, 6-1) to advance to the Roland-Garros round of 16 once again. After her victory, the young Russian shared a fun anecdote about the circumstances of her match, mentioning a gesture from a young fan:
"When I walked onto the court, a girl who was with me left it on my bench. I think it was some kind of lucky charm. It’s not very pretty anymore because of the rain, but of course, I’ll keep it. I think it’s my lucky charm now. Anyway, thank you very much to that girl, because that’s why I won today."
Andreeva will face Kasatkina, who defeated world No. 10 Badosa.
