The absurd statistic of Mpetshi Perricard's first set against Khachanov
Beaten by Karen Khachanov in his 2nd round match in Paris, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard won the first set in an improbable manner.
In 53 minutes of play in the first set, the Russian had been impeccable on his serves. He didn't concede a point on his serve until the tie-break, when he finally conceded a first point at 5-5, then at 13-12 in favor of the Frenchman.
Mpetshi Perricard won two return points in the whole set, but managed to snatch the tie-break.
A statistic we're not likely to see again any time soon. It should be noted that Khachanov had also won more points at this stage of the match (44 vs. 39).
