Zverev in the last 16 in Paris
Facing Tallon Griekspoor for the fourth time this season, Alexander Zverev was solid enough to win in two sets (7-6, 6-3) and reach the last 16 of the Paris Masters 1000.
After Indian Wells, Roland Garros and Shanghai, the two players met again this evening for their fourth encounter of the year. And once again, the duel turned out to the German's advantage.
The first set was a tight affair, with Griekspoor having three break point opportunities which he was unable to convert. It was finally in the tie-break that the world no. 3 made the difference.
Zverev kept up his momentum and broke midway through the second set (3-2) to cruise to victory.
The win takes him into the last 16, where he will face Arthur Fils tomorrow. The Frenchman won their last meeting at the ATP 500 Hamburg final.
