The anger of Massu, Chile's captain: "No one came to apologize and ask for news".

The anger of Massu, Chile's captain: No one came to apologize and ask for news.

The match between Belgium and Chile ended on a stormy note, with Zizou Bergs colliding with Cristian Garin during a change of side.

The Chilean, who was hit in the eye, was given a penalty after refusing to continue the match, which led to his team's defeat.

After this rare sequence for a tennis match, captain Nicolas Massu expressed his anger in a press conference:

"The doctor was not neutral. He was more concerned about the match scenario than Cristian's state of health.

We want to send a clear message to the ITF: this is a lack of respect. The doctor spoke to the chair umpire for 12 seconds, and he's supposed to be neutral.

We're going to talk to the president of the federation to see what we can do. We're going to appeal because we're affected. We didn't do anything wrong and we're out."

Massu also lashed out at the Belgian team for failing to apologize after the incident: "We received no apology. Nobody came to apologize or to ask about Cristian.

And it's been an hour and a half since it happened.

I'm very surprised, I shook hands with the chair umpire and the Belgian captain (Steve Darcis) and I received absolutely nothing, I'm hurt."
