The feat Sabalenka could match at the Australian Open
Aryna Sabalenka will arrive in Melbourne in January with the status of double title-holder, a first in her career.
The Belarusian, who dominated the year 2024 by finishing as world No.1, will have to confirm this new status and could also make history if she wins her third Australian Open title in a row.
She would become the first player to win three consecutive titles in Melbourne since Martina Hingis (between 1997 and 1999).
Two other players achieved the same feat in the 80s and 90s: Steffi Graf (1988-1990) and Monica Seles (1991-1993).
