The grass was my favorite surface," admits Medvedev during a joint practice with Sinner at Wimbledon
After Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev also had the honor of holding a 45-minute training session on Wimbledon’s Centre Court on Friday.
For the occasion, the tournament decided to equip both players with microphones so they could answer a few questions from Jamie Delgado, current coach of Grigor Dimitrov and former coach of Andy Murray.
Delgado notably brought up Medvedev’s strong performances on grass, to which the Russian replied:
"I love grass. It used to be my favorite surface. Then, I won a lot of tournaments on hard courts. So I had to consider hard courts as my preferred surface. But I love playing on grass.
The last two Wimbledons have been good. Carlos (Alcaraz) is the only player I’ve lost to, and he plays pretty well at Wimbledon and on grass in general (smiles). We’ll see how it goes for me this year.
