There was a lot of expectation and a lack of time to recharge," Swiatek explains her clay-court failure
In an interview with Ubitennis, Iga Swiatek was asked about her unsuccessful 2025 clay-court season.
She attributes this lack of performance to pressure and a lack of energy: "I think there were many factors at the time, including the expectations on clay and the fact that I felt I had to play at my best level every week.
But sometimes, I just needed time to recharge, and I didn’t get it until my loss in Rome.
I was getting nervous more quickly for various reasons, I wasn’t working properly, and sometimes I was stubborn in dealing with situations.
So I think it was a mix of factors, and I needed time after Rome to get myself out of that situation.
