Iga Swiatek did not linger to secure her qualification for the US Open quarterfinals.

Facing Ekaterina Alexandrova, who had conceded only ten games during her first three matches, Swiatek knew the encounter was not necessarily going to be a walk in the park.

But against all expectations, Alexandrova never really settled into the match, and Swiatek, aggressive (21 winners) and effective on break points (5/8 converted), wrapped things up 6-3, 6-1 in 1 hour and 3 minutes.

A swift victory, worthy of a tournament debut, which allows the Polish player to reach her third US Open quarterfinal, but also to become the youngest player since Maria Sharapova in 2005 to reach the quarterfinals of all Grand Slam tournaments in the same season.

For a spot in the final four, she will face Amanda Anisimova or Beatriz Haddad Maia.

It will really be befitting if he attains his 25th Grand Slam crown at the AO for he's truly the GOAT & this will stamp him & endorse his GOAT status without an iota of doubt

Almost as important to Djokovic as Slam #25--and requiring less luck--is beating Federer's total of 103 singles titles. He'll play 250s, and might even surpass Connors's 109.
