I was brave but also lucky," Krejcikova reflects on saving eight match points against Townsend

Barbora Krejcikova won an epic match to advance to the quarterfinals of the US Open, saving eight match points against Taylor Townsend, including seven during a 28-point tiebreak.
This was a historic performance by the Czech player, as no male or female player had ever won a match in New York by saving so many match points.
She discussed this feat with reporters yesterday:
"I was brave but also lucky at certain moments because we had long rallies and I had to save them both when I was serving and when I was returning.
Taylor is a fantastic player; she plays very good tennis and serves extremely well. She can come to the net and surprise you. So it was difficult to know what was going to happen. I was just trying to return the ball to her side, hoping to save the match points.
