This is my first speech, so be kind to me, Boisson's words after her victory in Hamburg

Boisson claimed the first title of her career on the WTA tour by winning the Hamburg tournament against Bondar (7-5, 6-3). This performance ended a drought of two years and eight months for women's tennis. Interviewed on court after the match, the 22-year-old player made sure to thank all the people who support her daily:

"This is my first speech, so be kind to me (laughs). Congratulations to Anna for an incredible week. I’d like to thank Sandra for the wildcard because without her, I wouldn’t be here. Thanks also to everyone working on the tournament who made it so enjoyable.

And thank you to one of my physios—he managed to keep me in shape. Thanks to everyone who cheers me on. I think we’ve worked well, and I’m happy to have you by my side."

Ranked 44th after the latest WTA rankings update, Boisson confirmed that she is indeed a player to watch on clay.
