Barbora Krejcikova made a hard-fought debut in the first round of Wimbledon against Alexandra Eala, winning 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.
During the press conference, the Czech player explained how the title she claimed in London in 2024 could strengthen her mentally.
She stated: "In a way, it helps me. I think the title I won here last year is inside me—it will always help me.
It makes me feel good. Sometimes it makes me much stronger mentally. Even though it’s an individual sport, you’re fighting multiple factors all the time. Every week is a new story.
Today, for example, I’m proud that I stayed mentally present throughout the match, fighting for every ball and turning the score around.
