Tiafoe, Another Seeded Player Ousted at Wimbledon
Facing local favorite Norrie, Tiafoe was playing for a spot in the third round of Wimbledon and aiming to defeat the Brit for the third time in their four meetings.
After defeating Møller in the previous round, the American failed to maintain his momentum against a more efficient-serving Norrie. Converting 5 out of 12 break points, the world No. 61 took down the tournament's 12th seed in four sets (4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 7-5).
With this result, Norrie advances past the second round in London for the fourth time and will face the winner of the match between Lehečka and Bellucci. Notably, he reached the semifinals in 2022. As for Tiafoe, he has never managed to defeat a British player on grass and now becomes the 14th seeded men's player to exit the tournament.
