Tiafoe Defeats Muller and Advances to the Round of 16 in Madrid

Tiafoe won his match against Muller in straight sets (6-3, 6-3), securing a spot in the Round of 16 at the Madrid Masters 1000.
The two players faced off for the second time after their meeting in Acapulco earlier this year. On that occasion as well, the world No. 15 had prevailed (6-4, 6-2).
The Frenchman couldn't find the answers, overwhelmed by the American's aggression and pressure. He managed only two break opportunities in the match and struggled on his second serve (32% of points won). Meanwhile, Tiafoe served exceptionally well, winning 87% of points on his first serve.
In the previous round, the 27-year-old had eliminated Darderi. After defeating Muller, the last remaining French player, he will face the winner of the match between Arnaldi and Dzumhur for a place in the quarterfinals.
