Tsitsipas exits in the second round in Halle
Faced with Michelsen on the central court in Halle, Tsitsipas was unable to find solutions to overcome his opponent of the day. Struggling with his serves, the Greek was too inaccurate against the world No. 33.
For the second time this year, he lost to the American (7-6, 7-5) after the Australian Open. Another notable element: in his last four tournaments, Tsitsipas has not managed to get past the 3rd round, having fallen below the 20th spot in the ATP rankings. In 2024, he was eliminated at the same stage of the competition before experiencing the same result at Wimbledon.
Michelsen, meanwhile, claimed his third victory in three matches against the Greek (7-6, 7-5) and will face Medvedev in the quarterfinals.
