Tsitsipas on Badosa: "If she can do it, why can't I?"
Stefanos Tsitsipas is in Rotterdam for the ATP 500 tournament. For ATP, he spoke about his relationship with Paula Badosa and how it's helping his career.
He says: "Her success gives me a lot of motivation. Her run at the Australian Open was impressive and well-deserved.
When I saw that, I said to myself, 'If she can do it, why can't I? That's how I see it.
I've learned a lot from the process of getting to the semi-finals of a Grand Slam.
I felt privileged to be able to give her a few tips to help her reach the semi-finals.
She gave me the freedom to give her feedback and advice.
Thanks to her advice, I also learned things about myself, about the way I see the court and the way I approach my own game.
It pushes me forward. It was inspiring for me to watch her perform her tasks, because it teaches me how to do things when I'm in that position.
I feel she has a lot of respect for what I have to say.
I'm really happy to have a relationship like this, where I can exchange ideas and operate on a different scale than I usually do."
Tsitsipas will face a qualifier in the first round in Rotterdam.
