Stefanos Tsitsipas is hard to understand. After a period of considerable self-doubt, the Greek seems to be smiling again in Berlin.
As a member of the European team, he played a match of the highest level, easily overcoming Kokkinakis on Friday (6-1, 6-4) to open Team Europe's account.
Interviewed in the press conference, Tsitsipas praised the competition, explaining that no tournament can match it: "We have an incredible team of players and good captains guiding us.
I'm more enthusiastic about a competition like the Laver Cup than any other tournament of the year.
It brings out the best in me and I've always felt that I identify very well with the concept.
I try to enjoy and learn as much as possible from this week, because it teaches me a lot throughout my career."
