Ruud more complimentary than ever about Alcaraz: "He's a fantastic man".
Beaten by Cerundolo in the first match of the Laver Cup 2024 (6-4, 6-4), Ruud appeared disappointed, but not despondent in his press conference.
Displaying his team's clear desire to win, he spoke in particular about Carlos Alcaraz's first appearance in the competition.
In glowing terms, the Norwegian declared: "I can only say good things about Carlos. I had the opportunity to spend some time with him this week, and he's a fantastic man.
What he's doing is incredible, and to have a youngster like him is great news for tennis.
He's capable of doing incredible things on the court, he has a talent rarely seen in this sport and I have a lot of admiration for him because what he's doing is spectacular.
I hope he continues to improve and that I'll be able to beat him in the future.
I also hope he continues to be very successful for many years to come."
