Uchijima Overcomes Boisson in the Second Round at Rouen
Loïs Boisson aimed to build momentum in Rouen after her impressive first-round victory against Harriet Dart. On Thursday, she faced Moyuka Uchijima for a spot in the quarterfinals.
The Frenchwoman started the match strongly, taking the first set 6-1 in just 26 minutes.
The second set followed a similar pattern, with Boisson leading 5-2 and even earning a match point on her serve.
Unfortunately for her, Uchijima managed to break back and clinched the set in a tie-break.
Struggling with physical discomfort, Boisson took a medical timeout in the third set and couldn’t prevent her opponent’s victory, despite securing two breaks.
Uchijima triumphed 1-6, 7-6, 6-4 and will face either Linda Fruhvirtova or Olga Danilovic in the quarterfinals.
