US Open Women's Qualifiers: Gracheva Aims to Build on Cincinnati Run, Four Other French Players in the Draw

The US Open women's qualifiers draw was unveiled early this afternoon in New York.
Five French players are competing in these qualifiers, hoping to secure their spot in the main draw.
Varvara Gracheva, who will re-enter the top 100 following her quarterfinal run in Cincinnati, will need to maintain momentum with a first-round match against Madison Brengle, ranked 864th in the world. Ena Shibahara, the No. 20 seed, could be her opponent in the third round.
Jessika Ponchet, Tessah Andrianjafitrimo, Manon Léonard, and Sarah Rakotomanga are also in the mix.
Ponchet, who reached the third round of the US Open last year, will be defending a significant portion of her points. She is the No. 25 seed and will face Elizabeth Mandlik.
Andrianjafitrimo, competing in these qualifiers for the third time in her career after 2021 and 2022, will start against Polona Hercog, a former world No. 35. Léonard will play Sada Nahimana, while Rakotomanga will take on Guiomar Maristany Zuleta De Reales.
