The Spanish No. 2, frustrated at not being selected for the finals taking place next week, had publicly expressed his dissatisfaction, provoking a frank response from captain David Ferrer, who stated he no longer had confidence in him.
The disagreement seems set to last, as 'ADF' has chosen to play the UTS (Ultimate Tennis Showdown) in Guadalajara in February, an exhibition scheduled at the same time as the Davis Cup first round.
