Video - Garcia and Boisson train together before the start of the US Open
The draw for the US Open takes place this Thursday. The various players on the WTA tour will then be set for the final Grand Slam event of the season. For the occasion, Caroline Garcia, who received a wild card, will play the final tournament of her career in New York.
A semi-finalist in 2022, the 31-year-old Frenchwoman, ranked 174th in the world, will permanently hang up her racket in the coming days. In the American capital, Garcia has been training in recent hours with her young compatriot Loïs Boisson (see video below).
The Roland-Garros semi-finalist and winner of her first WTA title in Hamburg at the end of July will, for her part, play her first main draw at Flushing Meadows. Injured in her left thigh in recent weeks, the Dijon native, ranked 46th in the world, has only played one hard-court warm-up tournament in Cleveland, where she fell in the first round to Jil Teichmann.
