Video - Shapovalov Mocks Dedura-Palomero's Celebration During Practice

Last week, on his 26th birthday, Denis Shapovalov was forced to retire in the first round of the ATP 500 tournament in Munich. Facing 17-year-old German player Diego Dedura-Palomero, the Canadian, who was ill, threw in the towel (7-6, 3-0 ret.), handing Dedura-Palomero his first career victory on the ATP Tour.
As the first player born in 2008 to score a win on the main tour, the German nevertheless sparked controversy (for the wrong reasons) by celebrating his opponent's retirement in an exaggerated manner—at least according to tennis observers on social media.
Dedura-Palomero had roared with joy and even lay on his back on the court moments later, while a stunned Shapovalov looked on before exiting.
Now in Madrid, the 30th-ranked Shapovalov was seen during practice on Tuesday and jokingly reenacted his Bavarian opponent's celebration (see video below).
The moment was caught by onlookers at his training session. Seeded in the Spanish capital, the Dallas tournament winner earlier this season will face either Aleksandar Vukic or Kei Nishikori in his opening match.
