Video - The tense handshake between Fils and Seyboth Wild
After taking France's second point against Brazil in the Davis Cup, Arthur Fils exchanged a tense handshake with his opponent Thiago Seyboth Wild.
The Brazilian was angered by two facts of play.
The first, at 4-4, 40-A, when Fils' passing shot, which went out of bounds, grazed Seyboth Wild's racket.
The chair umpire's decision turned out to be a mistake, giving the break to the Frenchman, even though television replays showed that the racket had not touched the ball.
The confusion continued at 5-4, 30-30. Seyboth Wild asked for a challenge on Fils' serve, which fell on the line, before switching sides directly, as if he'd won the point, because Fils had hit his backhand into the net.
The Brazilian no longer wanted the challenge, although it was too late, and logically lost the point.
Annoyed by the scenario at the end of the match, the 76th-ranked player in the world exchanged a few words with Fils at the net, before the two men explained themselves again as the Brazilian left the court.
Speaking to beIN Sports, Fils recalled the tension at the net: "When we shook hands, he said something to me. Except that I'm not his child, so there's no such thing."
