Video - When Fils Set the Paris Masters 1000 Crowd on Fire
Arthur Fils will not be participating in the Paris Masters 1000 this year. The Frenchman, still injured, has just announced the end of his season.
Last year, the Frenchman arrived with confidence: having won the title in Tokyo and reached the semi-finals in Basel, Fils knew the French crowd was expecting him.
In his opening match of the tournament, he faced Marin Cilic. During the first-set tie-break, the Frenchman electrified the crowd, which was firmly on his side, with a magnificent defensive play finished with a cross-court backhand.
He ultimately won the match 7-6, 6-4.
