Like the Masters 1000 in Toronto for men, the WTA 1000 in Montreal starts this Sunday with several matches scheduled. Two French players will be on the courts on this first day of competition.
Varvara Gracheva and Elsa Jacquemot, both from the qualifiers, will face Zhu Lin and Rebecca Marino respectively. Also on the schedule, Marketa Vondrousova. The Czech will face Alexandra Eala in a very enticing first round.
Bianca Andreescu, who received a wild card for this match, will play against Barbora Krejcikova. A true Canadian revelation, Victoria Mboko, who is in the top 100 at 18 years old, will open her tournament against Kimberly Birrell.
