Like the Masters 1000 in Toronto for men, the WTA 1000 in Montreal starts this Sunday with several matches scheduled. Two French players will be on the courts on this first day of competition.

Varvara Gracheva and Elsa Jacquemot, both from the qualifiers, will face Zhu Lin and Rebecca Marino respectively. Also on the schedule, Marketa Vondrousova. The Czech will face Alexandra Eala in a very enticing first round.

Bianca Andreescu, who received a wild card for this match, will play against Barbora Krejcikova. A true Canadian revelation, Victoria Mboko, who is in the top 100 at 18 years old, will open her tournament against Kimberly Birrell.

Notably, Danielle Collins will play against Viktoriya Tomova and will face Coco Gauff in the second round if she wins. Finally, Veronika Kudermetova will also be on the courts and will try to advance to the next round against Cristina Bucsa.

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.

What a finish this is.. I believe King has used his boost for today. Skelp is closing strong. Two wins and he claims 1st if I lose my last prediction.

Gonna be difficult with only 2 pointers to choose from.
