Vukov's Suspension Overturned on Appeal by the WTA

On January 31, Stefano Vukov, then-former coach of Elena Rybakina, was handed a one-year suspension by the WTA for "abuse of power and abusive behavior."
The investigation had revealed Vukov’s derogatory remarks toward the 2022 Wimbledon champion. However, the Croatian coach, who remains in contact with the Kazakh player, saw his suspension lifted on Friday.
The news was reported by *The Athletic*, which obtained a statement from the WTA: "While the details of the case remain confidential, we can confirm that Mr. Vukov is now eligible to receive accreditation for WTA events. We will not comment further."
Vukov appealed his suspension in May. He succeeded through a private arbitration process held with the WTA just before Wimbledon.
Rybakina had thanked the 38-year-old coach last year after the US Open but later rehired him for the 2025 season.
Although she is currently working with Davide Sanguinetti, the world No. 10 is now permitted to officially reintegrate Stefano Vukov into her team.
