We are now in the Big 2 era," Courier says about Sinner and Alcaraz

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz faced off last Sunday in the Rome Masters 1000 final, with the Spaniard winning in two sets.
For the media TennisUpToDate, Jim Courier analyzed the men's tour and the dominance of the world No. 1 and No. 2, who, in his view, seem to have a clear edge over the rest of the competition:
"We're coming out of the Big 3 and Big 4 era, and we're now in the Big 2 era for me. That's what they are. They have won the last five Grand Slams. And they clearly showed there's a gap.
We thought this clay court tour was going to be open because Sinner was still suspended and Alcaraz played brilliantly, but also showed a bit of inconsistency at times. But I feel like this clay season has somewhat put an end to that possibility.
Madrid was very open because they weren't both there. But in Rome, they stood out. And it’s clear that there's a gap between them and the rest, at least on clay.
Maybe on other surfaces it's a bit tighter, but I doubt it. So, for me, we have a new duo here. If they stay healthy, they're going to dominate for a long time.
