We got destroyed, Monfils reacts ironically to his doubles loss with Kyrgios

Gaël Monfils teamed up with Nick Kyrgios in doubles at Washington, despite Kyrgios not having played a singles match since March and his physical condition remaining a major question mark.

The two friends were knocked out in the first round after just 59 minutes of play, losing to Hugo Nys and Édouard Roger-Vasselin with a score of 6-2, 6-2.

After the match, Monfils posted a short video with Kyrgios, turning the defeat into a joke: "Guys, we got destroyed with Nick," the Frenchman said.

Kyrgios jokingly added: "Sorry, it's on me—I was playing on one leg. But Gaël was yelling at me on the court.
