WTA 250 Hobart tournament draw: Yastremska and Mertens seeded, Gracheva to challenge Linette in first round

The Hobart tournament in Australia is the last to have revealed its full draw next week. Defending champion Emma Navarro has opted to play in Adelaide and will not be defending her points.

Dayana Yastremska, semi-finalist at the last Australian Open, will be the number 1 seed.

The Ukrainian lost her opening match in Brisbane to Anastasia Potapova. She will face Katie Volynets in the first round.

Elise Mertens, who was forced to withdraw at the last minute in Auckland, is set to make her return to the WTA Tour at this tournament.

She will be seeded number 2 and will face a qualifier in her opening match, before playing either Clara Tauson or Anhelina Kalinina, both of whom are entered in a tournament this week.

The Dane will also face Naomi Osaka in the New Zealand final.

Varvara Gracheva, the only Frenchwoman in the tournament, faces a tricky first round against Magda Linette, seeded number 4.

If successful, she will play Olga Danilovic or Maya Joint. Other players of note include Veronika Kudermetova, Sofia Kenin and Amanda Anisimova.
