WTA players' council refuses to help Halep regain her ranking
Simona Halep had asked the WTA Players' Council to help her regain her ranking. However, this request was rejected. The Romanian shared this information on her social networks.
She told The Telegraph: "Following my return after a nine-month absence, I asked for my ranking to be restored, as it's complicated to rely on wild cards.
I noticed that the WTA players' council refused to give me back the ranking I had last July, and that the WTA didn't agree either.
It was very frustrating, because I deserve to get back to high standards in the rankings."
