Yastremska Forced to Withdraw from Prague Tournament Due to Visa Appointment

While Dayana Yastremska was competing at the Hamburg tournament last week, where she was defeated by Loïs Boisson, the Ukrainian player was unable to continue as planned with the Prague tournament.

The reason, however, was not an injury or a desire to rest, but rather an appointment to obtain a U.S. visa.

As reported by Tennis World USA, Yastremska had already faced visa issues in March when trying to play in the Indian Wells and Miami tournaments.

She stated: "I had a flight from Nice to San Francisco via Istanbul. As soon as I landed, they immediately wanted to deport me back to Ukraine.

Apparently, someone had officially reported to U.S. authorities, via Interpol, that my passport and visa were lost.

But that was completely false: my passport was right there in my hands, and it had never gone missing.

After four tense hours, they gave me a document allowing me to stay in the U.S. for six months, after which I had to renew my visa. It was stressful and intense, like something out of a movie."
